Network Engineer Network Engineer Skills: Network, infrastructure, Cisco Firewalls, Cisco Nexus products, Data Center experience, F5 or Netscaler load balancers (this is a plus)
Summary: Performs the installation, maintenance,
repair
, and monitoring of LAN Infrastructure to ensure proper functionality and performance, including associated operating system software and hardware components such as Firewalls, Routers, bridges, Switches, hubs, and associated cabling and wiring.
Responsibilities:- Performs the installation, maintenance, repair, and monitoring of the WAN infrastructure to ensure proper functionality and performance, including associated operating system software and hardware components such as Firewalls, Routers, CSU/DSUs, and any telecommunications cabling or wiring. - Assist with strategic planning of network environments. Works with Senior Network Engineers and project management staff to define requirements, timeframes, and resources needed to implement new networks. - Provide Level III network support by responding, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents. Ensure optimal network performance by conducting performance monitoring by making and recommending adjustments as necessary - Perform network capacity analysis and planning. Create network asset documentation and diagrams. Research and deploy network tools and management systems. Plan and address network hardware and software concerns (single points of failure, end of life, bugs, capacity, etc
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in
computer
science, information systems, electrical engineering, computer engineer or a relative field is preferred. Equivalent work experience can be substituted for educational requirements. - 5 years network infrastructure experience is required. Experience with configuration changes (ACL, routing, switching, certificates, etc.). - Experience managing network vendors and addressing issues as required (end of life hardware, software bugs, etc.) - Experience creating network asset documentation, diagrams, and other forms of network documentation. - Experience with design and working on large client projects including implementation - Expert knowledge of hardware and configuration of Cisco/Cisco Nexus Routers, Firewalls, Switches, and F5 or Netscaler load-balancers. - Expert knowledge of infrastructure design, wiring standards, various network protocols, network addressing, sub netting, and DNS. - Expert knowledge of WAN technology (MPLS, VPN, etc.) and experience working with telecommunications vendors. - Be a part of an on-call rotation - Data Center environment experience - Highly Desired Skills: CCNP or higher certification is a plus Benefits Employee will enjoy competitive compensation and benefits.
