Senior Accountant - 1 day per week in office

Immediate need for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a leading global provider of insurance services.
This global role will support the Financial Reporting team in multiple areas of Accounting.
The Senior Accountant will work under the supervision of a Director-Financial Reporting.
SEC Reporting M&A Support and Integration International Accounting and Consolidation Financial Reporting SOC and SOX Compliance Corporate Accounting Financial Systems and Strategic Initiatives Intercompany Accounting Corporate/International Treasury Responsibilities Prepares, validates, and reviews monthly financial statements Uploads information and prepares General Ledger (G/L) journal entries into PeopleSoft Financials.
Provides support to other departments such as Finance, Treasury, Corporate Accounting and Tax.
Corresponds and assists Finance division in matters related to monthly closing activities.
Prepares schedules for SEC reporting of 10-Q/K, 8-K, etc.
, including footnote disclosures and supporting analyses.
Involved with accounting matters such as stock-based compensation, self-insured reserves, revenue recognition, leases, pension accounting, goodwill and intangible assets.
Assists internal and external auditors frequently.
Provides complete explanations to inquire and coordinates appropriate responses from all locations as needed.
Reports and analyzes monthly G/L account activity and variances.
Communicates with management and frequently provides information/financial analysis.
Maintains appropriate records and documentation for financial reporting.
Prepares monthly account reconciliations.
Coordinates and invoices intercompany financial transactions.
Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related business discipline with general accounting courses, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
A minimum of three years Big 4 experience preferred but will consider equivalent combination of training and experience.
Strong technical accounting background and financial reporting knowledge of US GAAP.
CPA is preferred.

Accurate with good attention to detail.
Strong PC skills with advanced proficiency in Excel.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of SEC rules.
Must have ability to manage multiple projects.
Ability to interact with external and internal auditors, management, and others within the organization.
Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
