Aftermarket Buyer - Norcross, GA Job Summary :
The Aftermarket Buyer is a critical member of the Aftermarket Purchasing team.
This role is responsible for ensuring material requirements are met through internal or external procurement, fill rate and inventory turns goals are achieved, and issues concerning invoicing, freight, quality, and vendor performance are resolved in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented and possesses strong analytical skills.

Essential Functions:
Creates and communicates purchase orders and purchase order changes to suppliers Follows up on purchase orders to ensure delivery schedules are met Responsible for executing strategies to ensure company inventory and fill rate goals are achieved Monitors vendor on time delivery performance and works with suppliers to meet and exceed expectations Works diligently to ensure obsolete materials are minimized and provide minimum liability/scrapping requirements Proactively seeks cost reductions with current suppliers and through improved processes Generates intercompany part transfers and coordinates inventory activities associated with planning, scrapping, returning, and moving inventory between aftermarket and other plants Aligns closely with the sales team to purchase inventory to maximize sales for promotions Assists Warehouse Operations by focusing on inbound transportation and stocking methods to reduce costs associated with the procurement and handling of inventory Other duties assigned
Qualifications:
Experience/Training/Education:
At least three years of purchasing/material planning experience in a manufacturing/automotive environment At least three years of experience in SAP or similar ERP system Associate degree in Business required; Bachelors degree preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to work with multiple departments and personalities Proficiently with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through under tight timelines and pressured situations Outstanding priority management, time management, and organizational skills Ability to self-start and work without close supervision, understanding what needs to be done and takes the required actions Exudes high tolerance for ambiguity and paradox in a fast-paced environment of change Capable of analyzing data and interpreting the results to drive solutions Elevated ability to multitask Willingness to go the extra mile Physical and Environmental Elements:
Frequent exposure to manufacturing production environment Minimal to no travel will be required PPE Requirements:
