Job Description Safran Data Systems Inc. (SDS Inc.) is a world leader in space to ground communication solutions. Reporting to the EVP, Space and Communications, SDS Inc., the incumbent will be responsible for leading Space business development initiatives for federal customers and prime contractors regarding Safran's WeTrack Space Situational Awareness (SSA) platform, as well as potential development of new platforms involving satellite remote sensing data-to-decision via Safran ground communications systems. Must demonstrate a proven technical Dev/Ops (BD) background and experience bridging technical capability with DoD/IC requirements by working directly with and between the technical solution provider (Safran) and the technical end-user requirements generator (Customer) in agile development of software and customer user experience. Must be adept at crafting and presenting technical exemplars of potential solutions to customer challenges based upon sparse information from customers seeking best of breed tools for unique space problems. This is a leadership position which includes leading the Safran software development team for increasing the value of the end-user experience, leading the customer into greater appreciation of the Safran value-add to their mission and mentoring junior analysts to perfecting their craft beyond curating data into greater and more meaningful interpretation of the data and its mission implications. Spearhead the technical approach and implementation of plans for enabling SDS Inc. solutions penetration and expansion of Space products into multiple Defense organizations and Space Industry, especially those relating to Space Situational Awareness via the Safran WeTrack platform. Expand/deepen strong, trusted relationships in the IC, DoD, and with other defense organizations to provide actionable business opportunities. Act as the customer interface to Safran development teams for increasing Safran value-add, particularly with regard to platform services. Attend relevant industry conferences, trade shows, workshops, forums, etc. to form operational (Action Officer) level business relationships for the above growth markets. Track and ensure follow-through on opportunities. Work with the Technical and Inside Sales teams to ensure KPIs for capture are met. Provide necessary mentorship, as well as act as critical team redundancy. Complementary Description Advise and report to SDS Inc. Space Solutions business unit leadership of significant opportunities, associated capture plan and generate sales leads. Perform customer-benefit focused and technical-oriented business development presentations demonstrating an ability to communicate comfortably with customer program managers, Develop a deep understanding and positive relationship with specific high-value customer organizations within Defense organizations to enable enhanced capture and win strategies for new business. Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree in a technical or STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) field. 10
years of progressive experience in applying technology with Aerospace requirements. Ability to demonstrate deep intellectual curiosity for seeing customer challenges in advance of the customer's own recognition. Ability to articulate solvable problems to design teams in advance of customer needs. Ability to present solutions to the customer in impactful ways, thus underscoring the value-add of Safran talent and platform services. Demonstrate a passion for aerospace technology, especially with regard to Space. Strong analytical skills and the ability to formulate customer-convincing story-boards for business development. Experience with Space Situational Awareness, Space Domain Awareness, Space Traffic Management, GEOINT, SIGINT, Commercial Satellite Operations, Space Operations, Ground Segment Operations, Ground Segment Architectures. Experience with Safran or Zodiac products is a plus. Demonstrated experience in Dev/Ops environments, Agile Development, and Systems Architecture. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is required. Specificity of the job 50% travel, domestic and international, visiting customer sites and Safran factories.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
